Tagua Pipe Half Polished Finish Handmade
$14.00
Gorgeous “100% Vegetable Ivory” pipes hand carved from a whole dried Tagua seed. After the Tagua seeds lose all their moisture they become rock solid and then they are placed in a tumbler that shaves some of their brown rind, to obtain a “half polished” finish, so they’re ivory with brown streaks, which is the leftover rind. It’s a beautiful, unique finish, the dark brown rind contrasting with the revealed white ivory of the tagua seed. These are so smooth, like worry stones, great to carry around in your pocket or just to have at home. Very chic, practical and uncommon, makes the perfect gift. These Tagua pipes are 100% natural: sustainable, organic, vegan and biodegradable. Each pipe is unique, like a snowflake, slight variations in color, shape and size are natural characteristics of all our products and should be expected. Individual uniqueness is guaranteed.

When ripe, tagua seeds are harvested and dried for 6 to 9 months. After losing all their moisture they become rock solid resembling ivory in color, texture and hardness, hence their nickname: “Vegetable Ivory”. At this point the hard seeds can be polished, dyed, cut and shaped into beautiful beads that become Muichic’s natural jewelry.
